When Chase went to check his mail and found Rogue's note stuck to his door, he just knew he couldn't be certain when she'd left it. His stomach flipped over as he read it. He'd been so sure he'd fucked it up, and so aware he couldn't change his past that he hadn't slept at all the night before worrying about what had happened.

He stood in the foyer of this apartment, staring at the note. She blamed herself. How could she? It was his fault. He knew about her skin, he did accept it and it wasn't why he ran at all. He hurried into the kitchen and picked up his phone, quickly typing in a text-message.
