Rogue had been sleeping on the sofa when Chase arrived. He was damn near close to that himself. He'd dumped his backpack just inside the door of her apartment and stifled a yawn as he tiptoed over to the sofa. He leaned over her, carefully resting the back of his fingers on her forehead. No fever. Hmm.

He kissed the place his fingers had just vacated, and then set a bunch of flowers on the coffee table he'd picked up on his way to cheer her up so she'd see them when she woke. He rearranged the card amongst the blooms and then kicked his shoes off, settling into the nearby armchair and curling up with his head on the arm rest. He was sleeping soundly himself in minutes, his hair falling messily into his face.
