Dr Robert Chase

Today is Chase's 2nd birthday!

Two years ago today, I joined muse land with Chase, who was my first ever muse, even thought I had been writing fanfic and RP'er for years. I had actually been writing Chase since Season One of House, I just didn't stumble across muse land until two years ago.

The amount of fun I have had writing him is endless. He is forever a voice I nurture in my head, and I'm not sure I'll ever tire of playing him. I have picked up other muses along the way who have also become dear to my heart, but Chase here will always be my original boy ;)

But I can honestly say, purely and wholeheartedly, that I would not still be here with Chase without justalilcontact and her amazing, wonderful mun. We have become extremely close friends since Chase and Rogue got in on on the red carpet of Chase's first Tammy Awards. We have other pairings together, but again, Chase and Rogue are our foundation. She is an amazing writer, and my weeks wouldn't be complete without our characters bouncing off each other (probably metaphor intended there) in some way. We are evil enablers of each other, and we're always plotting up some crazy storylines or another. As it is, it's almost Chase and Rogue's two year anniversary as a couple and I have never written a couple with any other mun that long in my RP history, and they're still going strong.

Much, much love and super thanks also goes out to the muns of drcampbell, doctortara and sexyinscrubs and anor. They have joined justalilcontact's mun and I in our plotting, weaving storylines and connections and just generally being awesome. drcampbell's mun is a total nutball, always up for anything, and we love him for it. It also helps that any character he attempts, he nails the voice.

And finally, thank you to anyone Chase has ever had the pleasure of interacting with. I know he's not always for the fainthearted with his questionable sense of humour and Aussie feel he brings to things. He debuted on sixwordstories for his first open RP drunk with undies on his head at New Year. Since then, it's been a neverending string of fun writing and good laughs. So, thank you so so so so much. I hope we have many more hours of fun together.

I thought I better post a quick note here to apologise for my lagging tagging (heh) this past week or so. I have just started a new job as an Administrator for two hospital departments, namely Theatres and ER. This is similar to Cuddy's job on House, only I'm not involved with a whole hospital (thank effing fuck), just two busy departments.

This last week has literally been information overload with eight hour training days every day, so I've been waning on getting to my tags as quick as I usually do while my brain is trying to decide whether to explode or not. This will settle once I get my feet in the job, but it could continue for another few weeks yet because I have a ridiculous amount of new things to learn, everything from what colour post-its certain surgeons like to have their files flagged (and we have 16 surgeons connected to the hospital) with to trying to wrap my head around four different patient info and payroll computer systems.

I can't complain because the job is fantastic and a brilliant promotion, but I'm buggered when I get home from work and while I love RP as a relaxation source and still am getting to my tags, it's just not as consistent as I usually am. I promise it's not a permanent thing, though.

I do still love you all! Promise! ;)

This is why I will never really completely stop watch House as long as Jesse Spencer is in it, even if I resort to just watching Chase's two minutes per episode.

Just following Amber mun's lead, a note to say that Chase is soon about to be thrown into another RPG, and therefore collecting another verse in his wake.

headtrauma_rpg is a new House, M.D. RPG about to get off the ground, which will be AU and picking up at the end of Season 4. Most noteable AU changes we are going with is Amber survives the bus crash, Chase and Cameron have broken up, and Kutner is still in our midst (albeit, not a taken character in the game yet). Other post Season 4 canon milestones will be included, just perhaps with a slightly different take to fit the universe.

After a recent very successful House plot carried out at etrelibre_rpg, this new game will be primarily PoTW case-centric, with the team working to solve Diagnostic patient cases. However, we will also see less formal gameplay involving the characters' working lives at PPTH and their personal lives beyond work as they grow and evolve within the game.

I've always been a big softie for canon muses going back to their canon roots or for filling gaps canon left out. It's probably a lot of why I enjoy Chase, because he is such a blank canvas. My canon prompt challenge to myself is going well (even though I maybe might may have gotten distracted by the shiney of 'The Tudors' box set), but on top of that, we're about to start a House-focused plot in etrelibre_rpg.

I can't wait. I really can't. I have RP'ed Chase for so long and in other House RPGs. Although this isn't a solely House RPG, and is pan-fandom, we have a great House cast over there and a wonderful representation of other fandoms. I'm loving it. But even more so, I can't wait to get into a solid House plot again and - which goes without saying - seeing Chase involved in differentials again! My boy's going "home" ;)

After the miserable that was Season 5 of House (for Chase anyway), this is just what I need to inject more life back into my pup, right along with my canon prompts. I'm realising I haven't lost his voice at all, I just needed to remember why I loved him so much to want to write him in RP and as a muse. It's like coming home to a nice cup of tea and warm slippers on a cold day.

You guys at etrelibre_rpg, you're just great. Thanks for the many hours of the totally guilty pleasure that is Chase trapped on a luxury island with all your pups.

Chase has claimed this as his new theme song out of principle. He's a surgeon, damnit! Not Cameron's manbag.
